After considerable reflection, I have decided to explore the possibility of seeking Maryland’s 4th Congressional District seat. I have established an Alvin Thornton Exploratory Committee for this purpose. I see this effort as the logical extension and culmination of the numerous causes and efforts I have participated in and led over the past 40 years to provide political and economic opportunity and expand educational equality for citizens of Prince George’s and Anne Arundel Counties and across Maryland generally.
